CAMPAIGN AGAINST DRUG USE

DRUGS AND THE EFFECTS IN PEOPLE + THE COMMUNITY

CAMPAIGN AGAINST DRUG USE

"TAKING DRUGS IS NOT YOUR DECISION, IT IS THE COMMUNITY’S DECISION."

Drug by definition is a substance that has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body; a substance taken for its narcotic or stimulant effects, often illegally. Worldwide, the annual prevalence of illicit drug is about 4.8 percentage of the world population, but some countries present much higher prevalence. In Europe, opiates are the most problematic drugs, being responsible for 60 percentage of the treatment demands. This campaign focuses on how drugs and drug abuse affects not only the individual but also the community and the world at large.

I have analyzed the effects of drugs on the individual and has his/her decision affects the family to the community to the world at large, and attempt to bring that message to any person who maybe at risk.

Addiction is a chronic relapsing disease (Leshner, 1997), often accompanied by several neurological impairments such as :deficits in cognition, motivation, insight and attention, behavioural disinhibition, emotional instability, depression, anhedonia, impulsiveness, aggressiveness and movement disorders (Majewska, 1996; Pau et al., 2002).

The main characteristic of drug addiction is the compulsive drug use despite serious negative consequences. Drugs become more important than other goals and all activities are directed towards obtaining and consuming the drugs (Hyman et al., 2006). The use of drugs leads to the desired psychoactive effect, but also leads to toxic side-effects and to drug dependence, followed by short-term and long-term health and social problems due to a reduction in life-sustaining activities.

Strategies:

The design outcome is building up a website divided into regions

including video/interview in the community(teens/adults/elderly from different backgrounds of people ).

people can upload their stories or comments about the drug use in the community.

Design the flyers to involve residents to engage in the campaign.

Connect to the social network such as facebook, twitter.
